Germany and Virginia join hands to celebrate the holiday season in a fundraising event to support The Jacksonville Center for the Arts programs. German natives Clemens and Barbara von Claparede-Crola will open their Floyd home. "Eulenhof" to guests wishing to celebrate the Christmas season in the German tradition. The German Weihnacheten (Christmas) is a holiday rich in simple traditions: baking a gingerbread house, displaying advent calendars, and decorating with hand-made ornaments and fresh greenery. A renowned baker and culinary artist, Barbara will share many of the edible traditions of the season with guests. Space is limited, all tickets must be purchased in advance ($50/person); all proceeds to benefit Jax programming. Check jacksonvillecenter.org for more.
