Hotel Floyd is an outstanding example of a boutique hotel which captures the best of regional art, culture and customs. No visit to Floyd is complete without some time spent browsing in the Floyd Country Store, home of the Friday Night Jamboree, and in Farmers Supply, which is an is an old time hardware store on the corner opposite the County Courthouse.
There are a number of other stores where visitors can find that special treasure to remind them of their visit to Floyd: The Pickin' Porch music store, Schoolhouse Fabrics, Chic's Antiques, Finders Keepers Collectables, and the Jacksonville Center for the Arts.
Finally, there is the matter of live entertainment. For a tiny community (437 inhabitants), there is a whole lot of music making going on. The choices range from the historic "Friday Night Jamboree" at the Floyd Country Store to Reggae music at The Sun Music Hall to "Irish Night" at Oddfella's Cantina. Throughout the week local musicians can be heard at a dozen or so local venues.
