Across the back fence is the Historic Jacksonville Cemetery. Headstones date back to the early 1800's. A kiosk highlights the histories of these early Floyd residents. The rare soapstone tombs are especially impressive. The Town of Floyd is assessing options for the potential historic restoration of the Old Jacksonville Cemetery. The Town has made plans to construct a trail to the cemetery. The trail would connect Route 8 and Highway 221 and crosses Hotel Floyd and proposed Conference Center. Local businesses are also expressing interest in a larger community development project.
